The University of South Carolina is the coeducational public research university which offers more than 350 degrees to the students. This university is located in Colombia was established in 1801. History
The University of South Carolina was established in 1801 as the South Carolina Collage which commences its first class with nine students. There was only a one building when its open to the enrolment and in 1807 it was reconstructed with a master plan. Like other southern universities the University of South Carolina also has two literary cultures named Clariosophic Culture and Euphradian culture to encapsulate the undergraduate body.
With the depletion of students the professors in University of South Carolina decided to issue a notice to temporary close the university but when it’s reopened there are only nine students in the campus. University After reconstruction the University of South Carolina has an enrolment of 49220 students who can process more than 350 programs under bachelor’s, masters and doctoral degrees. Not only that the professional schools on the campus include business, engineering, law, medicine, pharmacy, and social work.
The University of South Carolina has the first isolated educational library in the united states which named as south Carolina library. Today the university consist with student union, 24 residence halls, numerous academic buildings, Longstreet Theatre, the Koger Center for the Arts, the Carolina Coliseum, the Colonial Life Arena, Carolina Stadium, and various facilities for Olympic sports.
Other than degree programs the USC delivers the chance to undergraduate researches with the guidance of faculty mentors. As a result USC decided to run research centers for Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing, Colon Cancer Research, Digital Humanities and FABER Entrepreneurship. University of South Carolina became a part of the NCAAI athletic conference.
