The University of Houston-Victoria is a open institute which is a four-year state university facilitating bachelor's and master's degrees face-to-face and virtually. Because it became one of four distinct institutions in the University of Houston system, UHV is known as a four year state university. University of Houston-Victoria's became the best college in the ranking of 2016 edition which has an enrollment of over 4,300 students across the state and countries.
History
With the effort of local community to carry a higher erudition institution to Victoria, the University of Houston was begun in 1960s. University of Hoston Victoria Center starts their job with the enrolment of one hundred students in 1973 located in Victoria. In 1983, The University of Houston Victoria Center was changed the name of University of Houston-Victoria. After that it turned into the University of Houston System's fourth university.
University & Schools
Even though University of Houston-Victoria and University of Houston both were the complement institution of the University of Houston System UHV is a standalone university which is a degree granting university.
The bookstore/ student center, the library fitness center are the facilities where the Victoria campus is sharing its facilities with Victoria Collage. The Library of the Victoria campus consists with four-stories and its collection is near to 185000 items where as the fitness center consist with gym and weighted room. The UHV is offering its own academic programs and its own degrees mainly because it is separately accredited.
Previously there was an upper division and graduate schools only. Later on it was expanded to facilitate the ne enrolments. The School of Arts & Sciences, the School of Business Administration, the School of Education & Human Development, and the School of Nursing are the four schools engage with UHV which offers both the degrees.
The main target of the MBA program in University of Houston-Victoria to gives the students the knowledge and skills which they need to manage the modern business and organizations. Strategic Master of Business Administration (Deliberate MBA), Global Master of Business Administration (Global MBA), Master of Science in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship (MS-EDE) are the main MBA programs conducted in UHV which includes courses in accounting, finance, general business, management and marketing.
