The Oaksterdam University was founded by Richard Lee who was an activist in 2007 to offer quality training for the cannabis industry. As a result of that this university was recognize as America’s first cannabis college. The main campus is located in Oaksterdam area but it’s conducting seminars in more cities in California.
History
The Cannabis College in Amsterdam gave the inspiration to the founder of Oaksterdam University the activist Richard Lee to create this university. The Oaksterdam University started its first classes in 2007 with 22 students. In early 2009, there were 25000 students who graduate from the university from 30 countries. Even though the founder thought to give up on ownership, school officials continued to teach classes since the university has more than 25000 students who graduated from the university ad they decided to add more programs.
University
The Oaksterdam University was established with the mission of legitimating the business and work to change the law to make cannabis legal. The university had to relocate to the Los Angeles and Michigan but the main campus was located in Oaksterdam. Later on the university curriculum reaches all the aspects in the industry and more.
There are two main programs in Oaksterdam University named Classic curriculum which teaches you about everything about the industry and other is the Horticulture track which teaches you everything about the growing cannabis. Most of the programs conducted through seminars.
Other than that there is a certification program which is conducted by the Oaksterdam University to the students who passed their final exams with 75 percent above which can be use as a reference for employment. There are three main levels in certification program as Semester Certification, Seminar Certification and online class certification.
The students can enroll with the online classes conducted by the Oaksterdam University who can attend to the classes virtually after business hours. This was the first online classes which are conducted by the Oaksterdam University.
