The Northwestern University is founded in 1851 as a private research university which is located in Evanston. This university composes 12 schools and colleges which offer 124 degree programs and 145 graduate programs. Other than the main campus, the university released campuses in education city, Doha, Qatar in 2008.
History
In 1851, Illinois General Assembly allowed a bond to establish the Northwestern University and the first building opened in 1855. After that funds raised to build the university by selling the perpetual scholarships. Northwestern university enrolled its first female student on 1869 and graduated in 1874 after the first female dean of the university Other than the studies, the university was famous in the sport areas. In 1882, northwestern university commences their first football team and later became the founding member of Big Ten Conference.
