George Washington University Overview
The George Washington University is one of largest institute of higher education in district of Colombia which is famous as a private research university and located in a place called Foggy Bottom in Washington, D.C. The GWU is a one of university where the worlds of science, technology, media and the arts come together which is positively engage in U.S. government, policy and law.
History
The University was bond by an Act of Congress “Fulfilling George Washington's vision of an institution in the nation's capital dedicated to educate and create future leaders” in 1821 and named as the Columbian College in the District of Columbia. Later the George Washington Memorial Association was in same path to an agreement with Columbian University to build a campus in the honor of the first US President in 1904. After that the university was famous as George Washington University.

Board of Trustees, provost, the president, vice presidents, deans, and department chairs are the governors of the GW University. GW is currently offer 70 majors which comprises with three other campus Foggy Bottom campus, GW Virginia Science and Technology Campus and Mount Vernon in Washington in Ashburn. Not only that, there are few graduate education centers which are engage with the GW University. Today, The University has over 6,000 faculty members, administrators, and support staff and exists with more than 26000 students from which 10000 students are fully undergraduates and 14000 students are graduates from 50 states in the district. Forensic science and creative writing to international affairs and computer engineering, medicine, public health, law and public policy are the main areas of studies which students can study with a rich range of discipline. Global health is one of the main areas where GWU is currently offering to the Students since whole world focus on this area due to rapid increment of the diseases in the world. Furthermore the university students are facilitated with variety of libraries such as the Burns Law Library, the Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library, the Virginia Science and Technology Library, and the Eckles Memorial Library which is consist in the GW University. The GW University is more reputed mainly because of the Law School is one of oldest law school in the District of Columbia, The School of Medicine and Global Health Sciences is the 11th oldest medical school in the nation & The Columbian College was founded in 1821, and is the oldest unit of the university.

Campus & Schools
The Foggy Bottom Campus, Mount Vernon Campus, and the Virginia Science and Technology Campus are the three campuses which are fully integrated with GW University where the Foggy Bottom Campus addresses the lots majority of academic programming. Also residence halls exist on the Foggy Bottom and Mount Vernon campuses. Mount Vernon Campus was established when the GWU purchased the Mount Vernon College for the Women which are serving as a complement to the Foggy Campus. Whereas Virginia Science and Technology Campus is a research and graduated campus, started with a donation in 1991 which could be home to the first walkable solar-power sidewalk in the world. The Columbian College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business, the Milken Institute School of Public Health, the Elliott School of International Affairs, the College of Professional Studies, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences, the Law School, the School of Nursing, and the Graduate School of Education and Human Development are the schools and colleges are operated by GW University.
Global Health at George Washington University
The department of Global Health University is carries extensive range of global health innovative researches and practice activities across the university and itself which is brings a series of program evaluation skills and policy expertise. Global Health programs and initiatives are implemented and evaluated by the future leaders in global public health with the mission of improving the health and well-being of populations in low and middle income settings abroad and with in U.S. Global health is one of requirement to the current world since everybody think only for development not for the public environment. If responsible governments are not paying their attention of this, this will significantly impact to the whole world. As world, we all need to be happy since GWU is influencing to the responsible parties by generating lot of graduated students to world.
Other Information
The GW University has the higher acceptance rate and they no longer required the SAT and ACT test score of the applicant to facilitate the students to boost their enrollment of underprivileged students. Other than studies all the students are facilitated with athletics program that includes men's baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, gymnastics, women's lacrosse, rowing, sailing, soccer, women's softball, squash, swimming, tennis, women's volleyball and water polo which is competing internally and with other competitions mainly in Atlantic 10 Conference.
